A 'legless' hedgehog was found rolling around an orchard after getting drunk by gorging on fermented apples.
The prickly creature - nicknamed Tipsy - was 'squealing loudly' when animal rescuers arrived at the scene in Braunton, Devon.

(CNN) -- Police say guilt was written all over their faces.

Police received a call Friday night that two men with hooded sweatshirts and painted faces had tried to break into a man's home in Carroll, Iowa.

When police stopped a vehicle matching the caller's description blocks away, they were stunned by the men's disguises.

There were no ski masks or stockings pulled over their heads; instead, Matthew Allan McNelly, 23, and Joey Lee Miller, 20, streaked their faces with permanent black marker.

Carroll Police Chief Cayler told CNN the strange disguises made it easier for his officers.

"We're very skilled investigators and the black faces gave them right away," Cayler said jokingly. "I have to assume the officers were kind of laughing at the time. I've never heard of coloring your face with a permanent marker."

Cayler said police believe one of the alleged burglars targeted the home because he suspected his girlfriend had a relationship with the man who lived there.

"They probably were just not thinking straight and figured we'll go out and scare the guy or whatever," Cayler said. "[They were] being dumb and combine that with alcohol and it was the perfect storm."

Both men were charged with attempted burglary, and McNelly was charged additionally with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Lawyers for the two men could not be reached for comment.

Cayler said he's been fielding calls about the case from news media outlets from all over the country -- mostly because of their funny-looking mug shots.

"I've been chief here almost 25 years, been with the department 28½ years and I've seen a lot of things that make me laugh and weird things but this was probably the best combination of the two -- strangely weird and hilariously funny all at the same time."

A Manhattan designer has created a new, classier and far more fashion-forward way to hail a cab.

Regine Basha's "taxi clutch" features a personal yellow taxi light -- spelled out in capital gold letters that can be set to flash on and off -- embedded in a black suede handbag. The lighted bag works wonders for flagging down cabbies -- especially at night or in the rain.

"Originally, I made bags with glow-in-the-dark piping," Basha said. "And I would use my bag to hail cabs because it stands out. Then I thought, how cool would it be if I had one that actually said 'Taxi' on it?"

Fashioned in homage to the classic taxi lights that once adorned many white-glove Upper East Side and Park Avenue buildings, the slick black clutch recalls a more genteel New York -- one in which ladies wore white gloves and weren't forced to run for cabs, in high heels, in the rain.

21 year-old Transformers star Shia LaBeouf was on David Letterman on Monday night and he explained his drunken Walgreen’s arrest. It was an hysterical story involving three visits to the drug store, two outfit changes, zit cream and cigarettes he forgot to buy after the first two visits in which the security guard made fun of him and distracted him. The video of the interview is below but in case you can’t watch it here’s the recap and a transcript.

The story goes that Shia was drunk and went to the drug store near his hotel to get some cigarettes. On the way down in the elevator he felt a zit forming on his forehead and decided to get some cream for it. When he was in the cosmetics aisle picking up the Clearasil, the security guard started laughing at him and he got pissed off and forgot his cigarettes. He decided to change his outfit and went back and got mocked again by the same guy. He again forgot the cigarettes and just came away with some gummi bears in his messed up state. The third time, in another outfit, is when he got into a mild confrontation with the guy, and got tackled by another security guard and arrested:

“So I go to Walgreen’s and I go to the cosmetic aisle,” LaBeouf recalled, “and I see the security guard and he’s looking at me, four in the morning, pretty disheveled, pretty messed up on the special magic sauce. And I get the pimple cream, and he’s looking at me, he’s kinda giggling to himself, and now I’m starting to feel like, `What? It’s really not that funny, guy, you know?’”

A bashful LaBeouf went back to his hotel and realized he’d forgotten to buy the smokes. The actor says he returned to Walgreen’s wearing different clothes: “I’m going, `Well, now the guy saw me, now what am I gonna do?’ So I do an outfit change.”

LaBeouf said the security guard noticed and said, “Hey, nice outfit,” to which he retorted: “Yeah, nice outfit to you, too.”

LaBeouf said he accidentally backed into the candy aisle, but tried to play it off like he did it on purpose. “So I grabbed these gummy bears, and I’m like, `yeah, THESE,’” he recalled.

He said he purchased the sweets _ and, once again, left without buying cigarettes. So he threw on a hooded sweatshirt and returned to the store a third time.

“I go back down, I got the hoodie on, he goes, `Really? Really? Really?’ And I’m like, `Yeah, really!’ He goes, `Well, what are you doing here?’ And I’m like, `Well buddy, it’s your worst nightmare,’” LaBeouf said.

He said at that point, another security guard put him in plastic handcuffs and took him to the ground, said LaBeouf, calling himself a “moron.”

LaBeouf was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespassing; the next day, Labeouf’s smiling mug shot splashed across Internet.

“It was a photo shoot, (the officer’s) like, ‘Let me take like 14 mug shots,’” LaBeouf said.

Prosecutors later dropped charges because Walgreen Co. and a security company indicated they didn’t want to continue the case.

Okay, I'm tired of beating around the bush. I'm a beautiful
(spectacularly beautiful) 25 year old girl. I'm articulate and classy.
I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at

- Why are some of the women living lavish lifestyles on the upper east
side so plain? I've seen really 'plain jane' boring types who have
nothing to offer married to incredibly wealthy guys. I've seen drop dead
gorgeous girls in singles bars in the east village. What's the story
there?

- Jobs I should look out for? Everyone knows - lawyer, investment
banker, doctor. How much do those guys really make? And where do they
hang out? Where do the hedge fund guys hang out?

- How you decide marriage vs. just a girlfriend? I am looking for
MARRIAGE ONLY

Please hold your insults - I'm putting myself out there in an honest
way. Most beautiful women are superficial; at least I'm being up front
about it. I wouldn't be searching for these kind of guys if I wasn't

I read your posting with great interest and have thought meaningfully
about your dilemma. I offer the following analysis of your predicament.
Firstly, I'm not wasting your time, I qualify as a guy who fits your
bill; that is I make more than $500K per year. That said here's how I
see it.

Your offer, from the prospective of a guy like me, is plain and simple a
cr@ppy business deal. Here's why. Cutting through all the B.S., what you
suggest is a simple trade: you bring your looks to the party and I bring
my money. Fine, simple. But here's the rub, your looks will fade and my
money will likely continue into perpetuity...in fact, it is very likely
that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't
be getting any more beautiful!

So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning
asset. Not only are you a depreciating asset, your depreciation
accelerates! Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty
hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in
earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!

So in Wall Street terms, we would call you a trading position, not a buy
and hold...hence the rub...marriage. It doesn't make good business sense
to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease. In case
you think I'm being cruel, I would say the following. If my money were
to go away, so would you, so when your beauty fades I need an out. It's
as simple as that. So a deal that makes sense is dating, not marriage.

Separately, I was taught early in my career about efficient markets. So,
I wonder why a girl as "articulate, classy and spectacularly beautiful"
as you has been unable to find your sugar daddy. I find it hard to
believe that if you are as gorgeous as you say you are that the $500K
hasn't found you, if not only for a tryout.

By the way, you could always find a way to make your own money and then
we wouldn't need to have this difficult conversation.

SEATTLE - Federal agents thought there was something fishy about Leroy Carr.

On four occasions since last December, Carr either crossed the Canadian border or was found near it with thousands of dollars in cash, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court. He also sometimes carried night vision goggles and a GPS device programmed with coordinates for a well-known drug-smuggling trail.

But Carr refused to speak with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, and they let him go — until he called to ask if they had seen his cocaine.

According to the complaint, he told agents that on Aug. 3, he had stashed two blue backpacks containing 68 pounds of cocaine by the entrance to a Boy Scout camp near the Canadian border. When he returned the next day, they were gone, he said.

Carr, of suburban Federal Way, asked if ICE could put out a news release saying that federal agents had seized the drugs. That way, according to the complaint, the organization he was working for would believe his statements that he hadn't stolen them.

Two weeks later, a Boy Scout ranger found the backpacks, which were dry and in good shape, and called police.

Carr was arrested last weekend on a federal charge of cocaine possession with intent to distribute. He made his initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Seattle on Monday and is scheduled for a detention hearing Thursday.

Carr's attorney, Nancy Tenney, was out of the office Wednesday morning and did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

A loud, unattractive, mean woman walked into Wal-Mart with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

The Wal-Mart Greeters says "Good morning, and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?" The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, "Hell no they ain't. Oldest one's 9 and the other one's 7. Why the Hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?

The Borrowed LP is a themed, 12-track mixtape with instros taken from Gang Starr’s “The Ownerz.” Each song works as part of a fictional night at a college house party, linked together with short interludes to help flesh out the story. At 45-minutes, the mixtape is quick, but it’s a thorough dose of hip hop. Definitely has the boom bap sound that defines Primo’s music but it’s also got a mashed-up quality to it – think Slug meets Lupe at Vince Vaughn’s house. With Guiliani playing beerpong on the deck. There was a chicken and a horse playing together on a farm one day. The horse fell into a mud pit and yelled to the chicken to run to the house and get the farmer. The chicken ran to the house and the farmer was nowhere to be found. So, it got into the farmer's BMW and pulled the horse out with it.

The next day the chicken and the horse were playing on the farm again. This time the chicken fell into the mud pit and yelled to the horse to get help. So, the horse stood over the mud pit and told the chicken to grab on to his penis and he'd pull him out. The chicken grabbed on and, indeed, the horse pulled him out.

The moral of the story: If you're hung like a horse, you don't need a BMW to pick up chicks.
